1. Final Gettysburg Study: Reading and Quiz

a. We will take a quiz on the new SAGE Formative Program. I will have the login requirements for you in class. 


2. Vocabulary 

a. If you any questions about Vocabulary Chapter Ten, we will take a few minutes to cover any questions.
b. If you have not started Vocabulary Chapter Ten Worksheet, it is relinked below:

b. Submit your finished Vocabulary Chapter Ten to your English 10 folder.

3. American Historical Documents: 

a. So far we have studied two classic American documents, the Declaration of Independence and the Gettysburg Address. Thanks for being so willing to study this documents with such focus and sincerity.
b. Today, we are going to start studying a new document: FDR's 1941 State of the Union Address.
c. Before we do this, we need to give some background and discussion about what is going on in the world and our country at this time. 
d. I will be sharing background information from the following essay (you do not have to read this, but it is here for your use):

Essay Author: James J. Kimble (Seton Hall University)

e. Note: FDR's 1941 State of the Union Address is given in January (It is often called "The Four Freedoms" speech). Pearl Harbor would happen eleven months later on December 7, 1941 which changed everything and brought the U.S. fully into WWII.


4. Background of the WWII Time Period:

a. Here are a couple videos about the WWII Time Period. We will watch them for background.



5. SAGE Formative: FDR's State of the Union Address

a. You will now complete the following SAGE Formative Assessment for FDR's State of the Union Address in January 1941. Remember that this took place eleven months before Pearl Harbor.
b. Read the entire speech and take the assessments after. This will require some academic stamina:
